Blog Post #5

This week has been a busy week while trying to prepare for the test. I really enjoyed learning about dangling modifiers, and the importance of writing clear sentences. My biggest problem this week, was working on the parallelism section of the worksheet. I have learned during this class that I struggle at finding the best way to rewrite sentences.
A grammar site I consistently visit is Purdue OWL (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/). This website is awesome because it has the general APA Guidelines, as well as an APA workshop. The website is easy to navigate, and is packed with information. You can learn about general writing, citing papers, available resources and the MLA guide. In my opinion, this website packs the most punch.
A grammar mistake I found this week was on the internet. While viewing Inspired Media Concepts’ website, I viewed ski films and ran into this film description.

The very first sentence, in this paragraph, is a run on. It is also really poorly written and needs some grammar help. I would rewrite it as: “In the middle of August 2015, Henrik Harlaut and Noah Albaladejo had the chance to go visit the El Calafate resort in Argentina. El Calafate is not well known to skiers because it has only existed for 3 years.” Also, the last sentence of the paragraph is missing a period.
