The ten secrets to good writing are
helpful for this class. If I were to choose an 11th secret it would
be: to minimize the amount of time on social media. The amount of time that we
spend in front of social media is familiarizing ourselves with improper grammar
and writing skills. It is important to focus on what we can do to become good
at writing, however, I feel it is just as important to simply prevent bad
writing. The more we see it, hear it, like it, or share it, the more we will
have a tendency to use that grammar. Though this secret seems silly in the
world today, it would help with improved writing. Not using Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram, and Snap Chat would lesson our exposure to improper grammar. Not
seeing as much improper grammar would help our own writing to become better.
I saw this spelling error in messaging. 'Your' should be you're.
Another error I saw this week was this post made on Friday.
Clearfield should be capitalized because it is a city. This last error that I found this week, was from looking at fridges on KSL Classifieds.
To correct this grammar mistake, there should be a period placed after 'anymore.' I would also capitalized 'It's.' The final change I would make is to put a period after the word 'great.'
That is a good point on trying to avoid situations that are prone to grammatical errors. It is easy to forget the correct way to do things in this technological world of abbreviations.
