Dana Shumway

Hi my name is Dana Brooke Shumway. I am 23 years old. I am 5’ 1 ½” and happy for every ½” I’ve got J I am from Kaysville UT and graduated high school from Davis High … GO DARTS!
After high school I spent time at Utah State University where I graduated with my Associate’s Degree. I loved my time in Logan and enjoyed all of the great people I met. Fun little fact, I actually roomed with Dr Josephen’s daughter Hannah… she is the best. I then took some time and worked full time as an Inside Channel Account Manager at Marketstar on their NetApp team. I absolutely loved this job along with the people and the financial benefits that came with it ;) But after some time I felt a great need to finish my Bachelors Degree.

I started on my Bachelor’s Degree at Weber State about a year ago. I am a Communications Major with an emphasis in Interpersonal & Family Communication. I am currently in my last semester at Weber State and look forward to see what the future has in store. I have absolutely loved my time at Weber and have especially LOVED what I am studying. There is so much power in how we communicate and grow from each other. I have definitely learned a lot as a Communications Major and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn so many great applicable things from my classes.

I currently work at a fantastic company called Artisan Hardware. We specialize in making and selling sliding barn doors and hardware. (Like you’d see on HGTV). I work doing sales, customer service and currently assist with our blog posts and website. This has been a great job that gives me the opportunity to interact with people (which I love doing) and is also flexible with my schooling.

I love long distance running, hiking, music, traveling and sunflowers. I also really enjoy gluten free baking. I have had Celiac Disease for about 13 years and have worked hard to learn to make yummy food and I LOVE doing it! The most important foundations in my life are my family, my friends and my LDS faith.  So yeah… that’s me in a nutshell J I am excited to get to know you all!
