Hello everyone, my name is Jessica Bischoff and I am a junior attending Weber State for my second year. I grew up in Ogden and went out of state to live and play volleyball for my first year of college. I moved back the following year and have been studying at Weber since. I am a public relations major studying visual communication.

I have many other interests other than PR. I love to cook and am always saving and setting aside recipes and food ideas that I want to try. I have the worst sweet tooth, but am very passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet. I am very interested in nutrition and considered going into personal training for quite a while. I then decided that I wouldn’t be a very good example to clients based on how much I love dessert.  The biggest thing I have found help me is balance. Once you learn to balance your exercise with rest, and your sweets with healthy, whole foods, then you will find satisfaction. We are often too hard on ourselves and it destroys our personal happiness.

My favorite part of living in Utah is the beautiful scenery that we get to see every day. I love hiking in the mountains, and skiing the same ones in the winter. There are so many beautiful places here and I don’t think I will ever get tired of the views. As much as I love Utah, I also plan to travel as much as I can throughout my life. I have seen so many beautiful places so far that I never knew existed. I know that there are so many more out there waiting.

This summer I went on a trip to Paris that was very eye-opening. I think sometimes we forget how far the world extends outside of our own backyard, and can learn a lot by exploring different cultures and destinations. I already want to go back, and learn how to make French croissants at home so I don’t need to go on without them. Until my next trip I am always staying busy with a hectic schedule. I take morning classes at Weber and work evening shifts every night at University Broiler and Grill. Along with that I always find a way to squeeze in family and friend time, as well as an hour at the gym.

I prefer to be busy, which sometimes exhausts me and pushes me to my limits, but the feelings of accomplishment and productivity keep me going. I love feeling productive in whatever I am doing, which may also be a reason why I chose public relations as my choice of study. I’m not quite sure where I am headed with it but I have my fingers crossed that everything will fall into place once I graduate. My careers plans will shape themselves slowly.
Until then, I am a waitress, a student, and a very happy individual who loves to experience new things and meet new people.
