Week 11, Derrek Ballard

I loved this week's assignments!  It was fun to write headlines and try to fit them in a specified area (for example, one column, three lines, 24 type).  I'm excited to do next week's assignment "Writing Headlines 2" because I'm assuming it'll be essentially the same task.

I think the hardest part of this week's assignments are making the headlines flow from one line to the other, as well as finding synonyms for words that will fit within the one- or two- column framework.

This is the post I found this week:
It made me laugh because this is the hardest thing for me to understand.  I've always been a fan of the "Oxford comma" because I've always felt it made more sense.  I read everything I write out loud before posting it and I just always felt like there should be a comma after the term before "and."  It's a conscious reminder every time I run into this situation.  I don't run into this issue much anymore thanks to this class, but I still sometimes revert back to my old ways.
