Week 13/ 14- Keela Disterhaft

Everything in my post this week will be related to kids. I’ve been busy shopping and searching for childcare. My first example is of the “Care About Childcare” website. It lists licensed childcare in the area. It’s a very useful site.

When I started my search for childcare, my main priority was finding a safe place where my child could be cared for. I think websites don’t entirely speak for a childcare center but they play a huge part.

Some of the other websites I used to search for childcare center seemed a little sketchy. This website’s design drew me in and I felt as if they were more professional than other sites I visited.

I liked how the colors were subtle and how the boxes were neatly aligned on the page. Each block of color represented a different hyperlink and it’s very user-friendly. The navigation in the right corner is easy to comprehend and you know exactly what you need to do when you get to the site.

The second site is from Carter’s. This is a baby clothes store and I’ve shopped here for many years. Since it’s the holiday season they’ve rolled out their “door buster” sales. The pictures they use on their site always get me. I buy something 90 percent of the time because I love the photos and the organization of the website.

There are other websites that sale baby clothing that, I feel, are cluttered with links on their homepage. I tend to leave those sites in a hurry. This page, currently, organizes their page like a newspaper ad and the photos are links to click on. This makes it so easy to just buy what you see in the ad.

  1. Hi Keela. These are both great website examples. I don't have children yet, but I love buying things for my nieces and nephews so I will have to check out Carters site. Thank you for your thoughts!
