This week I enjoyed the assignment. I have never done anything with Web Design and learning about it was interesting. Unlike some other things we learn in school, I feel like I will use this skill in life. Surfing the internet looking at websites will make me pay more attention when I'm online shopping at the tricks tactics they use to get me to spend more money. For example I noticed on the HP website it doesn't show you prices until after you add them into the cart. It doesn't direct you to a price for awhile and long after you've read about the product. The home page never really has prices because it often would probably navigate someone away from reading about a product. I think it is very cool that websites have different lettering and spacing to influence consumers to click on certain things. I also noticed that I skip over things with a lot of text and when it is short clever things I'm more likely to be entertained. I think that this is a good thing to learn from a consumer level and from a business level. It is good to be aware of what business's will do in order to get you to purchase something. It is also good to know what a consumer will fall for on a business level.

  1. I agree, when there is a lot of text I tend to skip it to. It's interesting to see the marketing tactics they use on website, especially around Black Friday.
