Web Page Design and Layout

This week I enjoyed learning about web design and how a good layout can make a huge impact on your website. I never realized how much work is put in to create a good web page. It was a lot of fun to look through websites seeing which ones implemented some of the rules we learned this week in our studies. After reading all the articles shared this week, I found two websites I feel best reflect a good web page design and layout.

This first website is for my brother's design company. I really like the simple yet powerful layout my brother has created. His logo sticks out behind the white backdrop and it has a really cool and unique color scheme. I really like how my brother relied on pictures instead of words on his website. The pictures allow the viewer to understand what type of art my brother does and sets a powerful mood. A simply yet effective way of finding his target audience.

I was really impressed by Tylenol's website and their use of colors and shapes. Tylenol uses a wide variety of shapes, repetition, and proximity to create a clean user-friendly website. I really like how they used the color red to draw viewers eyes to specific parts of their website. It was easy to figure out that everything red was a link and could be clinked on. The unique grid layout is appealing to the eyes and organizes all the information in a nice way.
