This weeks assignments were probably my favorite in this class. I found it very interesting to write my own headlines. I caught myself spending a lot of time on this assignment because I just kept reading other headlines and when I found a good headline, I would read the story. It is crazy how important a headline is to a story. I think it is the most important part. It determines if the reader is going to read your story or skip over it. I found myself liking the headlines with the strong verbs in them. These stood out to me and I ended up reading the stories. I found it hard to not write a headline as a question. I felt like a question would stand out to readers and would draw their interest. I did learn to make them short and sweet. I did make some mistakes of making them too long but I learned my lesson. Even though it has to be short, you can still get a point across and add detail to it.
The mistake I found this week was in my own paper. I was writing a paper for another class and I made the mistake of have two run on sentences. This concept is hard for me and it is still something I am working on. I feel like it makes it sound choppy if I cut the sentence in half but then when I read it out loud I understood what the professor meant. It sounded better when I made it into two sentences.
